Throught the Service Disk procedure of ASPAN, is possible to receive an accurate assistance on the problems encountered, without the need of a direct intervention to the user, as it allows our technicians to riprodune the working environment of the user. For technical problems encountered during use of the program is always preferable to send a service disc from your installation of ASPAN before contacting technical assistance.

The procedure is different depending on the version of the program used:
(it is possible to identify the exact release of ASPAN with the menu command Help > About)

 

 

ASPAN release 6 or older

If you are using a release earlier than ASPAN 7, start the service-disk procedure with the apposite icon (SERVICE) located in the programs group created by ASPAN in your Windows start menu.

Proceed with the creation of the service-disk as described at point 3 of the following procedure;

 

ASPAN release 7 or 8

  1. Start ASPAN;
  2. (menu) utility > tecnical menu > service disk;
  3. click "Disk" to proceed;

  4. select the drawing that you were working when you encountered the problem, and click the "OK" button;

  5. write a DETAILED description of the problem and list all the steps needed to reproduce it, then click the "OK" button to start the elaboration;

  6. At the end of the elaboration you will be prompt to select where to save the service disk;
     
  7. Select the "Save to folder" option to temporary save the service disk in a local folder.

    For releases previous than 7 the option "Save to Folder" coud not be available, so it is necessary to save the file to a floppy disk;
     
  8. Now it is possible to send the file "ServDisk.zip" to the technical assistance as shown in the succeeding dialogs.

 

ASPAN release 9

Release 9.1p2 of ASPAN introduces a new service procedure:
(for releases 9.x but earlier than 9.1p2 it is possible to download the free upgrade from this website or refere to the procedure relative to release 7-8)

  1. Start ASPAN;
  2. (menu) utility > tecnical menu > service disk;
  3. select the files that you want to send to the technical support, depending on the problem experienced (drawings, dxf, opitonal modules data, etc...) enabling the apposite checkbox. Click Next> to proceed.

     
    • Drawings: check this option to add one or more drawings to the service disk;
    • Text: check this option for problems concerning creation of texts in ASPAN;
    • DXF: check this option to add one or more DXF files to the service disk;
    • Macro: check this option if needed support on macros or commands included in the menu draw > hardware (door-lock, cam fittings, dowels, etc...);
    • Optional modules (Nesting, doors, cabinet): check this option if needed support on one of the additional modules of ASPAN;
     
  4. write a DETAILED description of the problem and list all the steps needed to reproduce it. Once terminated, click Next> to proceed.

     
  5. Add files to be included in the service disk using Add button. Click Next> to proceed.

    Depending on selected options (point 3) the procedure will ask you to add relative files;
     
  6. Select the destination folder where you want to create the file (ex. Desktop).
    To modify the destination use the Browse button, than click Next> to proceed.

     
  7. Before creating the file, a "Summary" dialog will be shown. Click End to proceed with the creation of the file.

     
  8. Terminated file creation process, a dialog will report details of the file and the email address of our technical support;

     
  9. Now it is possible to send the file "Servdisk.zip" to the technical assistance as email attachment.
